Approximately 25,000 households in south-east Queensland found themselves lacking electricity on Monday morning after intense storm systems passed over the area, generating powerful gusts reaching 109 kilometers per hour.
Massive Hailstones and Extensive Damage
Homeowners reported substantial frozen pellets measuring up to 7cm in particular locations. Meteorological experts confirmed that different parts across the state had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency response teams received 598 calls for help across the area, mostly for property damage but also for fallen timber and inundation.

Moist weather were expected to linger along large portions of eastern Queensland this next several days as a atmospheric system continued to attract humidity against the coast.
Tuesday was expected to become the most rainy day, with ongoing storm activity expected across multiple regions of both regions.
