An extensive extended voyage through the Australian Coast has been cancelled days after the fatal incident of an elderly female passenger who was stranded by the cruise liner on a remote coastal location.

The elderly woman had been walking on the tropical location with shipmates from the cruise ship, but separated from the group for a pause. The vessel sailed away leaving her and went back after some time after the ship staff discovered the passenger was unaccounted for.

A major hunt discovered her body the subsequent day.

Officials are investigating the event, alongside law enforcement and the official investigator.

Chief Executive of the voyage organizer announced that passengers and staff on the ship were informed that the continuation of the cruise had been terminated due to the "unfortunate death and previous technical problems".

In a statement, he added that passengers would be provided a complete reimbursement, and said the company was working "to organize the travel back of the travelers via private aircraft".

Officials also released an latest statement, and said they had "delivered a directive to the Commander" prohibiting any new passengers from boarding the ship.

The spokesperson said that they would inspect the liner in Cairns upon its arrival.

The liner originally sailed from the coastal city on 24 October, and was only 48 hours into the voyage at the point of the senior passenger's demise. The remote island was the opening port on the journey.

Travelers on the ship - who generally pay substantial amounts of money to take part in the cruise - were transported there for a daily excursion with the option of walking or snorkelling.

The offspring of the victim said that her loved ones was "surprised and distressed that the ship left the island after an scheduled excursion without my mum".

Via her announcement, she characterized her mother as an "active elderly person" who was a participant of a hiking organization.

"According to scant details we have been informed, it looks that there was a failure of attention and basic judgment," she said.

She further stated that she wished the investigation would be able to pinpoint what "the company should have performed that might have preserved Her life".
